🇱🇧Layali Lebnan Recipe
Ingredients:
1 litre full cream milk
1 cup semolina
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp rose water or orange blossom water
Topping:
600ml thickened cream
1tbsp icing sugar
Sugar Syrup:
1 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup water
A few drops of lemon squeezed
-Lightly grease a serving tray with butter or ghee
-In a saucepan, combine milk, semolina and sugar and mix continuously over medium until it starts to thicken like a custard.
-Pour into prepared serving tray and refrigerate for a couple of hours.
-For the top layer beat thickened cream and icing sugar until whipped.
-Spread on top of cold pudding later. Return to fridge for 6 hours or overnight
-Make sugar syrup by combining ingredients in a small pot on high heat. Don’t mix it when you place on the heat.
-Once it starts to boil, allow to boil for a minute then reduce heat to low and simmer for about 8min stirring only occasionally.
-Turn off heat and stand until it cools.
-Drizzle over dessert only before serving
