Potato prices have dropped significantly, with the wholesale price of potatoes falling to Rs 40 in Cuttack's Chhatra Bazar. The market saw an influx of nine potato carts, including four from Uttar Pradesh (UP) and five from Bengal. The wholesale prices for potatoes have been reported as Rs 30 to 31 per kg for UP potatoes and Rs 32 to 34 per kg for Bengal potatoes. This has led to a reduction in the retail price, which has now come down to Rs 40 per kg.
In response to the price changes, the supply department is actively monitoring the situation. It is conducting checks at various retail shops and godowns to ensure that prices remain under control and that there is no further price fluctuation in the market.
