How to grow coriander step by step process 🌿
In January also u can grow coriander easily.
🌱Choose the Right Container:
Use a wide container rather than deep.
Height: 6–8 inches is enough.
Make sure it has good drainage holes.
🌱Prepare the Soil Mix:
Use a light, airy mix
Best potting mix for coriander:
40% garden soil
30% compost (vermicompost / cow dung)
30% cocopeat
Hand full of neem powder and spoon of trichoderma.
🌱Prepare the Seeds:
Most coriander seeds are split seeds (dhanalu).
For better germination:
Take seeds lightly crush with your hand/rolling pin (not into powder, just split).
Soak in water for 20–24 hours.
🌱Sowing the Seeds:
Fill the pot with the soil mix.
Sprinkle seeds evenly on top.
Cover with 1/2 inch cocopeat.
Water gently.
🌱Watering:
Keep soil moist, not waterlogged.
Water daily in summer, alternate days in winter.
Use a sprayer for even watering.
🌱Sunlight Requirement:
Coriander needs 3–4 hours direct sunlight.
Too much hot sun = leaves become thin and plant bolts early.
Winter is the best season for growing coriander.
🌱When to Add Fertilizer
After 12–15 days:
Add a thin layer of vermicompost on top.
Or mix liquid fertilizer:
1 spoon seaweed / panchagavya in 1 litre water (optional)
🌱Harvesting:
First harvest in 25–30 days.
Cut leaves 2 inches above soil (don’t uproot).
Plants grow back for 2–3 more cuttings.
