Dark Angel’s Comeback Album Extinction Level Event Sucks

Dark Angel is back with their new album, Extinction Level Event—but is it worth your time and money? After waiting decades since their cult thrash classics of the late ’80s and early ’90s, fans hoped for a crushing return. Instead, what we got feels like a messy, uninspired disappointment.

The production is muddy, the vocals flat, and the AI-generated album art matches the sound—cheap and forgettable. Even Gene Hoglan’s reliable drumming can’t save this disaster. My son summed it up perfectly: it sounds like low-budget background metal for a knock-off video game.
