Two ships have sunk near the Strait of Hormuz amid escalating attacks on commercial shipping during the ongoing US-Iran conflict. Singapore-flagged container ship GFS Pride sank after being struck by a projectile and catching fire, while the bulk carrier Cape Dao also sank after an earlier strike. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed that GFS Pride sank after hitting a naval mine, but the exact circumstances and responsibility for the projectile strikes remain unclear.
