The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is one of the best Tesla Model Y alternatives on the market, and for 2026 Hyundai made it cheaper, gave it more range, and didn't take anything away. The original launched as a 2022 model year with 800V charging, 303 miles of range, and a starting price just above $40,000. The 2025 refresh added a larger 84 kWh battery, a NACS port, roof rails, a rear wiper, and two new trims.
The overall footprint grew by about an inch, putting it at 185.6 inches — precisely the same length as the Ford Mustang Mach-E. For 2026, Hyundai dropped the price by over $7,000 and kept everything else intact.
